Our letter to Wes Streeting on NHS outsourcing

This week, my fellow Green MPs and I wrote to the Health Secretary Wes Streeting after hearing from many of our constituents who are concerned about the outsourcing of NHS services.

Our constituents are very worried about the current situation facing NHS Accident and Emergency departments, hospitals, primary care services and other parts of the service, and want to see the government empower Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and NHS trusts to buy up private hospital facilities rather than expanding the role of the private sector.

We called on the Health Secretary to take the public’s view into account, and halt the privatisation of our NHS.
